Released in December, 2009 as a Flash game, the original Blasting Agent was one of the first games made with the first version of Flixel - an ActionScript 3 game framework. It was was praised by fans and won 3rd place in Newground's Flixel February contest in 2010.
Now, the game has been converted over to HaxeFlixel, a cross-platform, open source, free game development framework, retouched, tweaked, and cleaned up to create the definitive version of this classic game.

Im late but Happy birthday dev, i like when things blast so thanks for the game
Just purchased game, do you offer steam keys? if so i can provide a review on steam for you. i will post a review on here after i have played but i am aware steam reviews are more important for exposure. let me know, no problem if not.
Sorry I don't really offer Steam Keys...
Retro inspired hardcore jump and shoot game. Despite having a health bar, you often die in a very short moment, because of how lethal all enemies are. I really like that they made a campaign structure in which secrets you find serve as permanent powerups for the rest of your campaign (doubleshot, longer shot range...), which makes exploration feel very rewarding. Its basically a remake of a 2009 flash game, which shows a bit in its design philosophies and presentation, but at its core, its simply an interesting challenge that really scratches an itch to make e want to push through, explore and continue. 3,5/5

Reminds me of walking down the street to the local video store and renting NES games to find the hidden gem. This is that hidden gem!
If you like Mega Man-style running, gunning, and jumping, Blasting Agent is a lot of fun. Dare I say, a blast? It's a lot of fun to just run through levels blasting at everything that moves, or if you're wanting to explore more, collect as much gold and defeat as many enemies as possible.
GREAT GAME! tons of retro jump-and-shoot goodness! great soundtrack and well designed levels and bosses!
